My favorite poem type would be a haiku because of the format of a 5 7 5 syllable pattern.
An example created by me would be:
Red, yellow, green, pink
Crisp, soft, bitter, sweet, tangy
This is an apple.

My favorite type of poem is free verse because it follows no rules, and if there's one thing I hate about poetry, it's all those rules. Here is an example of a prose poem from me:
The amount of caffeine in my system could kill
But I'm still sleepy and exhausted
Because the day has no end:
I work
and I work
and I work.
Like a machine is controlling my limbs.
It's all I ever do.
It's all I will ever do.

My favorite type of poem is a haiku since it can say so much without many words at all. A great example of this is a haiku by Kobayashi Issa called "A World of Dew". It goes like this:
This world of dew
is a world of dew,
and yet, and yet.
This really shows how something with few words can be so thought provoking.
