Bob Tregilus<p>Nevada Northern Railway, Ely, Nevada (4/26/2025). These old engines were used to haul copper ore from the Ruth Mine on the west side of Ely to smelters in McGill, northeast of Ely. The trains, railway, &amp; machine shop are fully operational &amp; appear to the visitor as frozen in time from the early 20th century. I stop there every time I pass through town. Visitors can ride trains &amp; be the engineer, but I prefer to roam around the yard &amp; machine shop.</p><p><a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Trains" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Trains</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Steam" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Steam</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Railway" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Railway</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Photography" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Photography</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Darktable" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Darktable</span></a></p>
