Michael Piotrowski<p>Two hours into the review that I was unable to do this morning due to admin urgencies, I'm happy to report that I’ve already filled out 2 of 5 sections of the review form (I don’t mean this sarcastically, this is a huge project that’s part of an even huger project, so this kind of review—which will also involve a panel meeting at the funder’s headquarters—is absolutely justified).</p><p>I guess I’m entitled to a dinner break… </p><p><a href="https://mastodon.acm.org/tags/AcademicChatter" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>AcademicChatter</span></a></p>

Nate Gaylinn<p>The grad student union at UVM is bargaining with the administration, and holding protests to make their needs heard. We aren't paid anything close to a living wage, and many grad students don't even have reliable access to food.</p><p>The part that feels especially bleak to me is that the protests are in the form of "work ins." People bring their laptops to work from the hallways of the admin buildings. They do this because grad students are too busy and too insecure to stop working, even for this.</p><p><a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/academicchatter" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>academicchatter</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/union" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>union</span></a></p>

El Duvelle<p>"75% of scientific researchers in the U.S. are considering leaving the country" - must-watch if you haven't fully grasped yet the attack of Trump on US science.. Just like the damage on the planet, it is not too late to resist of and fix it though! Universities should stick together, people should come out in support of scientists, PIs should come out of their silence - as in this video - to alert the public on the ongoing destruction. </p><p>Quoting <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://infosec.exchange/@Nonya_Bidniss" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>Nonya_Bidniss</span></a></span>:<br><a href="https://infosec.exchange/@Nonya_Bidniss/115464536239675362" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">infosec.exchange/@Nonya_Bidnis</span><span class="invisible">s/115464536239675362</span></a></p><p><a href="https://neuromatch.social/tags/Science" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Science</span></a> <a href="https://neuromatch.social/tags/Academia" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Academia</span></a> <a href="https://neuromatch.social/tags/AcademicChatter" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>AcademicChatter</span></a></p>
