Whatever happened to #WordPressP2? I recall it in the early 2010s as a way to turn a #WordPress site into a #selfhosted #Twitter alternative. Then they started marketing it as a #Slack alternative, emphasizing the way they use it internally to guide #remotework called [happy tools](happy.tools/). Seems like it hasn't caught fire as either of these. Why not an #openweb alt to #Mastodon and other #Fediverse #microblogging tools via the #activitypub plug-in?

If the EU wishes to do something 10 times more powerful and impactful, it should wholeheartedly embrace and promote the #SocialWeb and extricate itself from State Controlled #USA #SocialMedia such as #Facebook and #Twitter.
The #EU should provide free assistance to anyone who wants to set up a #Mastodon or #PeerTube or #Pixelfed server.
It should make their own #Fediverse servers their primary source of communication. It should spend money on promoting #ActivityPub and its benefits.
This is how the EU fights #Trump #Fascism and puts Social Media and its moderation into the hands of EU citizens.

The structure of a federation should affect user activity, as a user selects a server to access the Fediverse and posts are distributed along the structure. This paper reports on the differences in user activity between Twitter and Mastodon, a prominent example of decentralized social media. The target of the analysis is Japanese posts because both Twitter and Mastodon are actively used especially in Japan. Our findings include a larger number of replies on Twitter, more consistent user engagement on mstdn.jp, and different topic preferences on each server.
