@grantpotter - I probably literally cut my teeth on #MAD magazine. It was always there. I see this photo of #aljaffee and Will Elder in school in 1936... and think "oh man, the poor teacher trying to keep this gang of idiots in line".

But when I looked for this photo, I learned that "Jaffee's teachers at the Bronx's Herman Ridder Junior High School tested Jaffee's class for arts aptitude," and sent him and Elder on to art school.

Here's to some patient and indulgent teachers of the 1930s!
